COVID-19 POLICIES

What are the new requirements for appointments during COVID-19?

For the customer:

Customers will be contacted by the professional a day before the appointment to answer a number of screening questions. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms or have come into contact with someone with the virus, the appointment will be cancelled.  

Customers must wear a mask from start to end of the appointment. They will be expected to wash their hands in front of the professionals prior to the start of the appointment.  

For group bookings, it should be limited to those living in the same household as recommended by the Ontario government.  

If the customer fails to follow any of the above policies, the professional may refuse to continue with the appointment and is permitted to leave with the professional being fully compensated for the appointment.    

For the stylist:

Lim's stylists will be wearing a N95 mask from the start to end of the appointment. We wipe our equipment case prior to entering your household, then wipe the allotted work area upon entering as well. We make sure to sanitize our hands prior to the appointment, and will sanitize again upon entry and throughout the appointment. Any garbage accumulated from the appointment will be disposed of independently from the household.

 

How often are the tools disinfected?

The tools are thoroughly disinfected before and after each appointment. We also sanitize the tools again in front of the customer, right before your hair treatment begins. The tools are disinfected immediately after the treatment or service is completed before being packed away.

 

Can you use my tools?

Yes, if your tools can do the job, we'd be happy to use them! We will assess your tools upon arrival, then decide if they can be used for your hair or spa treatment. However, since we are not familiar with your specific tools, it may affect your hair treatment and styling.

At Lim’s Spa and Salon, we are offering all of our services at our customer’s homes during COVID-19.

How should I prepare myself for my appointment?

We ask that you wash your hair in advance for any hair series such as hair cutting and hair treatments. Masks are required to be worn throughout the appointment, so please ensure that your mask is clean and comfortable to wear for an extended period.

 

What is the setup if I live in a house?

Please set up a chair to sit in, as well as a nearby surface such as a table or kitchen island to organize our tools and materials. The appointment can take place in the kitchen, near a window, or in the garage. Areas that allow for good air ventilation are preferred for both safety and comfort during our appointments.

Please set up a chair to sit in, as well as a nearby surface such as a table or kitchen island to organize our tools and materials. The appointment can take place in the kitchen, near a window, or on the balcony. Areas that allow for good air ventilation are preferred for both safety and comfort during our appointments.

 

How do I prepare my space for my appointment?

The great thing about having your appointment within your own home is that you can get comfortable! Pick your most comfy chair to use during the appointment, wear your PJs, or do not worry about the tidiness of your home.  

All we ask is that you disinfect the table and area that will be utilized during the appointment.

 

How many people are coming to my house?

Normally, only 1 person (Lim herself) will be visiting your home for your mobile salon experience. However, depending on the treatment type and number of family members or roommates with appointments, one more professional will be joining the appointment.

How long will the entire appointment take?  

The duration of the appointment depends on the service that is being offered. Haircuts take about 45 minutes, keratin treatments take about 3 hours, and spa treatments take between 45 minutes to a 1 hour. 

 

Can I make group appointments?

Yes, of course! We ask that you only book group appointments for other members of your household to maintain safety during COVID.

Our regular hours are as follows:

Monday:        9:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Tuesday:       9:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Wednesday:  9:30 AM - 7:00 PM 
Thursday:      9:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday:           9:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday:      9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday:         9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
